MSTR® (McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®) - Scar Massage
If you experience tension, numbness, tingling, altered sensation, fluid congestion, pulling or pain around an injury site, it may be due to scar tissue. Treatment to your scar is vital.
Scars can have a huge influence on our presenting problems. They can inhibit joint movement, weaken muscular strength, restrict fascia, reduce blood and lymph flow. Nerves and vessels are disrupted. Fluid flow becomes congested. Swelling can show up years after surgery. Bad memories and emotions can be locked into these scars. The body adapts but remains stressed.
MSTR® (McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®) is a proven, gentle and highly effective technique for the release of scar tissue and muscle adhesions.
Gentle, finger-tip pressure is applied to the area to help free the restrictions in the scar. This helps improve nerve, blood and lymph flow, mobility, flexibility and function in areas affected by scarring. No force is involved and the work is always applied within your tolerance.
MSTR® is suitable for post-surgical scars such as:
MSTR® is usually effective in 2-4 treatments depending on the scar. Scars need to be 8 weeks post-surgery and fully healed. Scars can be 20+ years old and still have profound changes after treatment.
MSTR® can be a standalone treatment or in conjection with other therapeutic therapies.
